The NEGN is part of the wider Think German Network initiative that is being developed across the UK. The aim of the network is to support the teaching and learning of the German language, to facilitate contacts between institutions interested in German culture and to promote the collaboration of academic and business partners. NEGN carries information about national and international resources but has a particular focus on all things German in the North East. The School of Modern Languages and Cultures at Durham University and the School of Modern languages at Newcastle University gratefully acknowledge the generous support provided by the Embassy of the Federal Republic of Germany in setting up the NEGN.
